WHO ARE WE

HOPE DISABILITIES ASSOCIATION (HODIA) is a Non-Profit making association dealing with providing information and support to Persons Living with Disability and their families in Kenya.The society was founded in the Year 2017 and was fully registered with Registrar of Society’s on March 21st 2018. Certificate Number 50369 and also registered with National Council for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD) Registration Number 5340.

There was a big disconnect among the PWDs in their leadership structure, access to information, representation and support services. Hodia’s main objective are:-

To overcome social discrimination, self-pity and attain self-actualization among PWDs and their families.
To improve Socio-economic standards of PWDs and their families.
To sensitize the society about various disabilities categories, care, support and if possible, disability prevention.
To champion for PWDs rights as enshrined in the Kenyan Constitution.
To integrate various disabilities categories.
To identify talents and unique abilities among the disable and ways to nurture them.

Advocacy and Legal Support

Providing guidance and representation to individuals with disabilities regarding their rights and legal entitlements.

Support Groups and Counseling

Facilitating support groups and providing counseling services to individuals with disabilities and their families.

Employment and Skills Development

Assisting individuals with disabilities in securing employment and developing essential skills for the workplace.

Community Outreach and Awareness

Raising awareness about disability issues in the community and promoting inclusivity.
